5 Reasons to Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend With Sackful of Krystals

Enjoy a Sackful of Krystals this Memorial Day!

Enjoy a Sackful of Krystals this Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Weekend – it’s the weekend that lets us know summer is near, so what better way to get the summer started than with a Krystal Sackful!

Available in restaurants now, Krystal is featuring 12 Krystals hot-off-the-grill for only $5.99. And, as if that wasn’t reason enough to grab a Sack, we here at Krystalist have come up with 5 more reasons why a Sackful of Krystals is perfect for celebrating your Memorial Day weekend. Check it out…

  1. Great For the Road: Whether you are in the car traveling to the lake, beach or somebody’s house, grab a Sackful for the ride. That’s why Krystal puts them in their neat little individual square boxes – so that the Burgers are easy to hand out and don’t make a mess in the car.
  2. Picnic Perfect: Skip the hassle of the usual plates, knives and forks bit. Or as we like to say, “Don’t pack a picnic, ‘Sack’ a picnic” with a Krystal Sackful! Make it a combo with fries and a drink, and you’ll have everything you need including napkins, condiments and more! (For a larger group of people, grab a Steamer Pack.)
  3. Made to Share: With 12 delicious small, square burgers all in one bag, sharing is made easy. No matter what the occasion, the Sackful is great for groups and there’s always plenty to go around.
  4. No Cooking Required: This holiday is meant for spending time with friends and family – not for slaving away in the kitchen. Sit back, relax and let Krystal do the cooking for you! Trust us – it’s much easier!
  5. It’s a Krystal Burger: And not just one Krystal, but 12. Enough said.

Enjoy your holiday weekend and safe travels to all!

Krystal Burger Cake Featured at Krystal GM Conference in Nashville

There's nothin' like a Krystal Burger - or Krystal Burger Cake!

There's nothin' like a Krystal Burger - or Krystal Burger Cake!

The Krystal Company definitely knows how to make a typical General Manager’s conference more than just a conference. And it starts by calling in a caterer who knows a little something about the Famous Krystal Burger.

Last week, The Krystal Company held one of its General Manager’s conferences in Nashville, TN where the employees were greeted with a fun food surprise – A Large Krystal Burger Cake! Created by local Nashville caterer Peggy Pickens from “Dining-In Catering,” the Krystal cake was a combination of white and chocolate-flavored cake layered and iced to resemble a single Krystal Burger in it’s iconic box packaging with a few Krystal fries on the side. As you can see by the picture on the right, Ms. Pickens did a mighty fine job of recreating a life-like Krystal Burger – only sweeter.

Needless to say, everyone who attended the conference was in awe of the cake’s incredible detail and great taste. It’s probably the only alternative to a Krystal Burger that you could get these folks to even try!

For more information and to order your very own Krystal Burger cake, visit www.diningin.biz.

Vote For Krystal In “A Hamburger Today’s” Burger Poll

There is nothing like the taste of a Krystal Burger served hot off the grill!

There is nothin' like the taste of a Krystal Burger served hot off the grill!

If you’re familiar with Krystal, then you might have also heard of the fast food eatery White Castle. And although Krystal is a Southern brand and White Castle is located primarily in the Northeast, the two burger joints are frequently compared to one another because of their small, square-shaped menu items. Hence, the burger poll featured recently on A Hamburger Today.

However, any true Krystal Lover can tell you that there is in fact no comparison to the Famous Krystal Burger served hot off the grill with an all-beef burger patty and steamed-in onion flavor that just can’t be found anywhere else. And we know you agree, which is why we’re asking you to share your opinion on A Hamburger Today’s Poll.

To vote, simply sign-in on A Hamburger Today, visit this LINK and vote for Krystal! We thank you for it.

But before you storm into the kitchen, make sure you’ve got your ducks (or should we say whisks and mixers) in a row. We don’t want you running around crazy on Thanksgiving Day – just be sure to find the closest Krystal restaurant to you prior to leaving the house. But after that, consider yourself armed and ready to make the best Stuffing this side of the Mason-Dixon Line.

See below for a quick look at two delectable Krystal Stuffing Recipes. For a printable version of each and for more ideas on how to make the most out of your Thanksgiving holiday, visit Krystal’s Facebook Page. And don’t forget, we’re always interested to see how it turns out, so be sure to share your stories and photos with us on Facebook and Twitter.

10 Facts You Might Not Know About The Krystal Burger

Customers have been enjoying The Famous Krystal Burger for more than 75 years!

Krystal Lovers have been enjoying The Famous Krystal Burger for more than 75 years!

Most of you have eaten a Krystal (shame on you if not) but many of you might not know some of the history behind the Krystal Burger and all its greatness. So, as a little end-of-the-week treat, here are 10 fun facts that you might not know about The Krystal Burger. Enjoy.

  • The first Krystal Burger was eaten by French Jenkins in 1932.
  • The Famous Krystal is not a mini burger but technically a Slider, according to A Hamburger Today, which is defined as: “A thin slice of beef, cooked on a griddle with onions and pickles piled atop the patty. The steam from the onions does as much cooking as the griddle. The buns are placed atop the onions, absorbing the flavor.” Though, The Krystal Company simply refers to its small, square famous burger as a Krystal or Krystal(s) when eaten in multiples.
  • The most Krystal Burgers to be consumed in an eight-minute period of time is 103, done by Krystal Square Off IV winner Joey Chestnut in 2007.
  • More than 239 million Krystal Burgers are eaten every year.
  • Because of the many diehard Krystal Burger fans, the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame was created to honor customers who have a passion for the brand. Those who are inducted get featured on over a million of his or her very own Krystal Burger or Cheese Krystal boxes.
  • If you put Krystal Burgers end to end, it would take 5.5 billion to reach the moon, 184,654,680 to travel around the Earth and 7,750 to reach the top of the Empire State Building.
  • Krystal’s introduction of chicken to the menu was in response to the nation’s food rationing (including beef) as a result of World War II. Once the war ended, Krystal went back to offering it’s signature, number one seller then and still today – The Krystal Burger.
  • Unlike most ordinary double burgers that simply add an extra burger patty, Krystal took the concept to the next level with its Double Krystal that features double the burger, double the bun and double the toppings for twice the taste.
  • The Krystal menu changes throughout the year to introduce new items, but because of it’s popularity, the Krystal Burger is always offered in the first four combo options, making it the most featured item on the menu at any given time.
  • Krystal Burgers are sold in 384 Krystal restaurants in 11 states across the South.

All this talk has us hungry for a Sackful. I see a Krystal Run in our interns’ near future. Hey, don’t judge -  they have to stay busy somehow!

How Would You Describe The Perfect Krystal?

Here's a Krystal image to help you find the exact words to convey it's perfectionIf you’re reading this post, chances are that you’re a Krystal Lover just like us. As advocates for anything Krystal related, it’s no wonder that we’ve written thousands of phrases to encapsulate the exact feeling and experience of biting into a Krystal Hamburger. Something that great is hard to put into words, but we’d love for you to take a stab at it. So all you verbal geniuses out there, give us the chance to read your version of the perfect Krystal experience. No rules apply!

Need help getting started? Take a look at this recent description we found on Mavinator’s Weblog

“It starts with a nice little square bun and a little square hamburger patty.  The buns are steamed with the meat on them so that the delicious juices from the meat soak into the bun.  Then little cooked onions, pickles, and mustard are added.  It’s probably the closest thing to heaven that can be found here on earth!”

Ahh, we’re getting hungry already. To read more, check out his full article here. Now, stop dilly-dallying and start paying homage to the Krystal fast food gods! We’ll be doing our part – off to get a Krystal midday snack.  We just can’t get enough of those MilkQuakes!
