Nintendo Wii Major League Eating Game Now Available
For all competitive eating fans out there, the much-anticipated Nintendo Wii game “Major League Eating: The Game” is now available for download from the console’s WiiWare service. The game will set you back about 1,000 Wii Points ($10) and as far as we’re concerned is well worth the investment.
We just downloaded the game onto our Wii here at the office and can already tell you that it’s a lot harder than you may think it would be. Picture, if you will, your Krystalist authors waving their arms like idiots, trying to chew and digest food without biting our virtual tongues or vomiting in dramatic fashion if we don’t shake our virtual bodies enough to help the food settle. There’s a lot going on.
At first you get to choose from one of four competitve eaters, “Crazy Legs” Conti, Erik “The Red” Denmark, Juliette Lee and El Toro. From there it looks like you have to unlock players, and we can tell from the silhouettes in the game that they include Joey Chestnut, Patrick “Deep Dish” Bertoletti, Takeru Kobayashi, Tim “Eater X” Janus and what looks like a giant bear…possibly the one that Kobayashi famously went head to head against.
The first opponent for us was Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, and we have yet to beat her. We keep experiencing the aforementioned “events.” In our last game she only beat us by one, so our time is coming. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the road to stardom gets any easier from there.
Anyway, give the game a try and let us know what you think of it in the comments below and maybe it’ll spur you onto to try your hand at competitive eating and qualify for the Krystal Square Off V. We’ll be releasing details on the KSO Qualifying Tour soon, so keep coming back for more on that.
