Krystal Announces Top “Krystal Lovers” Love Stories of 2008
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Krystal has announced its top “Krystal Lovers” love stories of 2008.
The winning stories, which range from an employee meeting the “love of her life” at the restaurant to a couple who became engaged while enjoying hot and steamy Krystals, were chosen from hundreds of emails and represent the best tales of how love connections were made and romances kept alive thanks to Krystal.
In recognition of sealing their love with a Krystal over the years, the five “Krystal Lover Lovers” chosen will each receive a romantic Krystal Lovers’ Dinner package perfect for this Valentine’s Day.
The special gift will contain all the ingredients needed to create an intimate dinner at the couple’s favorite Krystal restaurant, including a $100 Krystal Gift Card, linen table cloth and napkins, candles, a CD of romantic music, matching “his and hers” Krystal Lover shirts and more. Below are the winning stories for this year.

Keeping Krystal Close to the Heart
Joyce Jordan of Columbus, Ga., met the love of her life while working as a waitress at Krystal. Her husband-to-be, Parks, was a truck driver who dined at the restaurant everyday. After encouragement from her fellow employees, the couple shared their first date at Krystal in 1954. Even after marrying, the Jordan’s kept Krystal close to their heart, sharing wedding anniversaries and many precious years eating at the restaurant where they first met.
Nothing Says Happy Anniversary Like a No. 1 Combo from Krystal
As cash-strapped college students in the late 1960s, Mary Beth Watkins of Lilburn, Ga., and her soon-to-be husband, Michael, pooled their money together in order to afford dates at Krystal. Now, after 34 years of marriage, the couple celebrates every wedding anniversary at the restaurant, as it holds special memories from their dating years. “Nothing says Happy Anniversary for us like a No. 1 Combo from Krystal,” says Watkins.
Krystal Drive-In Marriage Proposal
More than 50 years ago, Wayne Masters of Rome, Ga., proposed to his wife, Judy, at the Krystal Drive-In on Shorter Ave. Claiming that he “had enough money after buying the ring for lunch [at Krystal],” Masters still has the receipt from the Krystal meal the day his wife said “Yes.”
Krystal First Meal as Husband and Wife
Missing out on the food at their wedding reception, Jeff and Ashlie Blalack of Chattanooga, Tenn., suddenly realized during the limo ride to their hotel that they were starving. Knowing it was 1:00 a.m., the couple asked the limo driver to take them to Krystal. After ordering a Sackful, fries and a Coke, the couple happily checked into the Chattanoogan Hotel where they shared their first night, and a Krystal meal, together as husband and wife.
Eating Krystal Before Cutting the Cake
Nancy and Robert Loftis of Powell, Tenn., have been going to Krystal since 1969, where they would go after school everyday to enjoy fries and Cokes. The day they married, the couple left the church and headed straight to Krystal, even before going to their own wedding reception. The couple recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary with a romantic dinner at where else - Krystal.
