Get a Breakfast Like Grandma Used to Make at Krystal
Growing up, we remember spending the night at our Grandma’s house and waking up in the morning to sound of pots and pans in the kitchen and the smell of bacon in the frying pan. In fact, we’d actually get out of bed before the sun came up just to fix a plate while the food was still hot.
To this day, nothing beats a good, old-fashioned breakfast of biscuits, eggs, grits and bacon. Yum.
Unfortunately, those days of a big, full breakfast are few and far between. Now days, we’ve got eighty million breakfast bars, shakes and sandwiches to get us through the morning. And while these may be more convenient, they sure don’t taste as good.
So, if you’re like us and still enjoy breakfast the way Grandma used to make it (perhaps minus the 5:30 a.m. pot banging session), we’re going to let you in on some good news. Not many folks are aware of this but you can still order up a real, full plate breakfast at Krystal, just like you could when the restaurant opened in 1932. It’s called the Krystal Country Breakfast, and it comes with eggs, bacon or Jimmy Dean sausage, hash browns or grits and a biscuit or toast.
Now, you have to actually get out of your car and go into the restaurant for this one, unless of course you just order a Scrambler, which takes those items and stacks them in bowl layer by layer so that you can enjoy it on-the-go. But trust us, take the time and go inside. You won’t be disappointed. It’s made just how Grandma used to make it, and in fact, you can even order your eggs however you’d like.
You know what? Why not take Grandma with you to Krystal for breakfast and treat her this Mother’s Day. We’re sure she’d enjoy it much more than your usual gift of a hokey card and flowers that inevitable die.
