I’m Dreaming of Milkshakes for Christmas?
I’m a seasonal purist when it comes to enjoying food, music, drinks and just about anything else that can be deemed season-related. You won’t find me ordering a margarita and listening to Bob Marley unless its hot outside and I don’t enjoy hot chocolate or candy buckeyes unless Christmas carols are playing in the background. Hot dogs equal summer (unless chili is involved and then they can extend into the Fall). And to me, pumpkin pies are for Thanksgiving only – not Christmas. So on and so forth. Picky? Weird? Maybe – but I’ve been this way for years and I’ve never been tempted to enjoy coffee in the spring or ice cream during the winter – until now.Krystal recently introduced two, new, holiday-inspired Milkquakes (Milkquakes are Krystal’s milkshakes which are actually made using real ice cream and real ingredients). The new flavors are Candy Cane and Eggnog and even though they go against my “no ice cream/cold desserts in the winter” rule – they have become my new Holiday drink, replacing my typical Eggnog Latte. My slightly obsessive-compulsive brain is still struggling with the concept of craving a milkshake at Christmas but my stomach doesn’t seem to be having a problem with it.
