As you may already know, we love to hear from Krystal Lovers about everything Krystal. Krystal Lovers celebrate more than five years of Free Wi-Fi use at restaurants across the South.

As you may know from our earlier blog post or your own personal experience, Krystal offers free wireless internet for its guests in locations all across the South. It started with one Krystal hotspot in 2003 showcasing Free Wi-Fi and has since been an innovative feature for all Krystal Lovers to enjoy in restaurants systemwide.

And we wanted to know how Krystal guests use and enjoy the Free Wi-Fi, so we recently polled Krystal’s Facebook Fans and Twitter followers to get feedback. We heard from Krystal Lovers who have done everything from participate in Krystal contests on Krystal.com while eating lunch to sharing on social media with friends to simply checking email. But don’t take our word for it, just read below!

Krystal offers Free Wi-Fi Internet access to guests in nearly 400 Krystal locations across the South.

Did you know that Krystal first introduced Free Wi-Fi Internet access to guests in 2003 at its UT Knoxville location? Did you also know that by June 2004 Krystal had 50 plus “Krystal Hotspots” offering free Wi-Fi? And that not soon after, Krystal integrated free wireless internet in all its restaurants systemwide.

Why do we mention this you might ask? Well, now that certain airlines, hotels and even some of the “other guys” in the fast food industry have decided to get in the game, Krystal still prides itself on being one of the first to offer Free Wi-Fi to its guests; while even now these late comers are still either limiting access time or charging as much as $12 or more to surf the sky.

We’re proud to say that for the past four years, Krystal guests have enjoyed using the company’s Free Wi-Fi for everything including: impromptu business meetings, study sessions, checking email during a leisurely lunch, sharing a favorite Krystal meal with friends on Facebook, participating in Krystal contests by logging onto Krystal.com and more.

So, in light of all those who are just now catching on, we just wanted to take a minute to share a big thank you from The Krystal Team to all its guests who have stopped by a Krystal restaurant to grab a bite and take advantage of its Free Wi-Fi access. At 6 a.m. this morning, the brand new Krystal restaurant located at 1555 Walton Way in Augusta, Ga. opened its doors, giving area residents more than eight convenient locations to pick up their favorite big taste Krystal menu items hot off the grill.

In addition to Krystal’s full line-up of signature products including the famous Krystal Burger, Krystal Chik and Krystal Pup, the Augusta restaurant also features Krystal’s newest menu item, The Krystal Blitz. Served “Frozen” or “On The Rocks” in a Lemon Berry flavor, the Blitz is a great-tasting energy drink that’s flavored with premium Monin® syrups and real, pure cane sugar.

The new restaurant in Augusta will also be an official “Krystal HotSpot,” offering free Wi-Fi Internet access to guests.

Just about every student has a favorite study food. My roommate in college used to make a bag of popcorn every time she sat down to cram for a test. I always drove to the closest Tiger Mart to pick up a 64-ounce fountain diet coke and a donut. I know, nutritious and delicious! Too bad I couldn’t just take a seat right there at the convenient store to study and get free refills on my mega drink.

Unlike myself, 2008 Krystal Hall of Famer Everett Duke had it figured out. His food of choice – Krystal. Why so genius, you ask? Good lighting, comfortable seating, great food and of course, free Wi-Fi. This perfect combination of study aides helped Duke finish a term paper and ace an exam. Now, all of Duke’s fellow Auburn peers have caught on to his newly discovered study destination and are reaping the benefits. However, as the founding father of this study Mecca, Duke will be the only War Eagle inducted in to the 2008 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame.
