Boxes for the 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductees hit restaurants this March!

Boxes for the 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductees hit restaurants this March!

Since December of 2009 when the new class of Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame inductees was introduced, we’ve kept you updated on their Krystal experiences with links to news articles and highlights of photos and videos from the various induction ceremonies. We’ve also given you a sneak peak of the legendary Krystal Hamburger Boxes, which feature the photos and stories of each Hall of Famer. Now, we’re excited to announce that the new Hamburger Boxes will be available in restaurants starting this month – March 2010.

Soon, Krystal Lovers can visit all of the company’s 385 restaurants across the South to eat their favorite Krystal or Cheese Krystal out of the new packaging. Each box will include an illustration of the Hall of Famer, a quote that describes his or her passion for Krystal as well as personal facts such as the inductee’s hometown and favorite Krystal meal.

And because of the great response Krystal had from its Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers when asked to hear guests’ Krystal stories for the Hall of Fame, we hope to see Krystal Lovers continue this engagement online as the boxes roll out in restaurants. You can let us know when you get a Hall of Famer’s box at the drive thru or even share your own personal story for the 2010 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame. And don’t forget to include photos and video with your submissions!

To read more about and see the full list of this year’s group of inductees, check out the Krystal Newsroom.

Final 2009 Krystal Hall of Fame Ceremony Inducts Bob and Beverly Balch

As the saying goes, "All good things must come to an end," which is the case for the 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. The 10th and final inductees, Bob and Beverly Balch, celebrated their Krystal story and new honor last Friday in St. Augustine, Fla.

Bob and Beverly Balch are Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductees #83

As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end,” which is the case for the 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies. The 10th and final inductees, Bob and Beverly Balch, celebrated their Krystal story and new honor last Friday in St. Augustine, Fla.

Friends and family were gathered around to hear the couple tell their tale – not of how many burgers they’ve eaten, but of a match made at Krystal. The story goes back five decades and explains how Bob, then a young Naval cadet, was able to woo Beverly over to his car that was parked in the Krystal parking lot in Mobile, Ala. Now 50 years and eight grandkids later, they are still enjoying a happy marriage and thank Krystal for the match-making help.

At their induction ceremony, Krystal’s executive team recognized the Balches with a life-size illustration of their very own Krystal Hamburger box, a Krystal plaque to be hung in the St. Augustine restaurant for all of eternity and a complimentary meal for the couple’s friends and family. To view photos of their induction ceremony, see below.

Also, stay tuned to learn more about the launch date for when the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Hamburger Boxes will roll out. It won’t be long before you’ll see the shining faces of the 2009 class on Krystal boxes in all 385 Krystal restaurants systemwide!

At his induction ceremony, Krystal recognized Underwood with a life-size illustration of his very own Krystal Hamburger box, a Krystal plaque to be hung in the Richmond, Ky. restaurant for all of eternity and a complimentary meal for friends and family. Just the flavorful smell of Krystal Burgers is enough to get Gizmo excited!

Gizmo tries to steal a bite of a tasty Krystal Burger

You’ve probably heard the phrase “everyone and their dog,” but in the case of Krystal Lovers across the South, it actually seems to be true – everyone and their dog loves the little, square, hot-off-the-grill Krystal Burgers. And, the proof is in the pictures.

Krystal Facebook fan Amanda McCarter Counts recently posted these photos on the Krystal Facebook wall to show how much she and her family dog, Gizmo, love Krystals. Now if only the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame honored pets! Until then, we’re excited to feature Gizmo here as Krystal’s smallest yet biggest fan. And instead of an induction ceremony, maybe we can see about getting him a Krystal Burger treat.

If you have any fun Krystal photos, please send them our way via email to info@krystalist.com, by posting on Facebook or tweeting to @krystalist and we’ll feature them here on Krystalist.com.

Krystal Country Transplants Find Way To Satisfy Krystal Cravings

Kris Underwood

When Krystal fans Kris Underwood and Angela Sims Quinty submitted their personal Krystal stories for the Hall of Fame, it was clear that they had more in common than their love for the brand. Both having been raised where eating at Krystal was a part of regular family outings, Underwood and Quinty developed a strong liking for the delicious, little, square burgers. And after moving away from their hometowns where Krystal locations were no longer available, both were left with the longing of their childhood Krystal memories.

Angela Sims Quinty

Unable to resist the long-distance call of his favorite eatery, Underwood soon made a tradition of getting his Krystal Burger fix by traveling 300 plus miles from his current residence in Huntington, Ind. all the way to Richmond, Ky. to satisfy his cravings. Unfortunately, Quinty didn’t have that luxury. However, one day as Qunity was out in the Houston area, the trademark, red-circle Krystal sign appeared like a beacon in the distance. As the shriek arose from her throat, Quinty repeatedly screamed, “It’s a Krystal! It’s a Krystal!” and high-tailed it to one of the first Krystal restaurants opened in the state of Texas.

To celebrate their die-hard love for the brand, Underwood and Quinty each earn a spot in the 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame. You are welcome to come out and celebrate at their individual induction ceremonies, both being held on Friday, Jan. 8. Underwood’s will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Krystal restaurant located at 440 Eastern Bypass in Richmond, Ky. Quinty will join friends and family at 7:30 p.m. at the Krystal restaurant located at 1623 FM 1960 Rd. W. in Houston, Texas.

John Wilson is Krystal Lover Hall of Fame Inductee #82.

The Class of 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame inductees aren’t just featured on millions of the legendary Krystal hamburger boxes. They’re also being featured in their hometown newspapers and on local TV news programs as word gets out about their distinction.

Most recently was new inductee John Wilson, who was featured in The Daily Times for his Krystal story submitted to Krystal’s Facebook page. The article tells the tale of Wilson’s fond memories of childhood trips to the Knoxville Zoo and his local Krystal restaurant where he ordered his favorite Krystal meal – the 4 Krystal Combo with two extra Krystals.

Wilson was also recognized by WBIR Channel 10 and WVLT Volunteer TV at his induction ceremony where the Krystal team greeted him with a life-size illustration of his very own Krystal Hamburger box, a Krystal plaque to be hung in the Alcoa restaurant for all of eternity and a complimentary meal for Wilson’s friends and family.

Photos and Highlights From Krystal Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies

2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductees Tracy Hale of Jackson, Tenn. and Tracie Tolentino of Snellville, Ga. celebrated their new honor this past week. Hale and Tolentino were recognized with induction ceremonies at their favorite local Krystal restaurants where each received a life-size illustration of her very own Krystal Hamburger Box, Krystal plaques to be hung in their respective Jackson and Snellville-area restaurants and a complimentary meal for friends and family.

Hale reminisced with her husband Jason about their wedding day, both laughing that Hale couldn’t have made it through without her little, square Krystal Burgers. Commenting on her Krystal Box Hale says, “It couldn’t be more reflective of my Krystal Story. It’s just perfect.”

Tolentino was equally as excited this past Saturday as she shared her childhood Krystal story with friends and family. She loved attending dance classes every Wednesday as a little girl, but nothing compared to theweekly trips to Krystal afterward. According to Tolentino, “We didn’t eat out often, but Krystal was all I ever needed. I’ll be a Krystal Lover for life!”

Needless to say, a good time was had by all. To check out highlights from both events, see the photo gallery below.

More From the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame 2009 Class

Terry Rogers is Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductee #80

Terry Rogers is Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame Inductee #80

Early last week Krystal celebrated Franklin, Tenn. native Terry Rogers’ induction into the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame. Rogers, a diehard fan, values the power of Krystal so much that she uses it as a means to determine who can and can’t join her family. In a recent wall post on the official Krystal Facebook Page, Rogers shared with us her litmus test for picking out suitors for her daughter: “My son-in-laws had to profess their love for Krystals as they professed their love for our daughters before we gave them our blessing.” Now that’s a measure of Krystal loyalty worthy enough for Hall of Fame status.

Also worthy is Inductee #79 from Jackson, Tenn. Tracy Hale who loves Krystal Burgers so much that she made them a part of her wedding. “All the pictures had been taken and it was only a matter of time, but we were starving,” Hale says of her big day. Even as he was about to give her away, Tracy’s dad still knew a thing or two about what was best for his daughter. “So my dad and stepmother went–in his tux and her dress–to the nearest Krystal and bought 100 Krystal hamburgers!” Hale continues, “I’ve got pictures of me eating one in my dress, and I have to say that I wouldn’t have made it through my wedding without Krystal!”

Check out Hale’s Krystal wedding photo below, courtesy of Chris Wood, and help celebrate her “other” big day as she’s inducted into the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame this evening – Mon., Dec. 21 – at 6 p.m. at the Krystal restaurant located at 1978 N. Highland in Jackson, Tenn. 38301.

Sidney Raper joins the Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame as Inductee #78.

This past Tuesday, Krystal inducted Kilmichael, Miss. resident Sidney Raper into its 2009 Krystal Lovers Hall of Fame. Sidney is being celebrated for his Krystal story, where he proved that in the South, a Sackful of Krystals can be just as important to a fan as the SEC football game he’s about to watch. Now that’s saying something!

At his induction ceremony, Krystal recognized Raper with a life-size illustration of his very own Krystal Hamburger box, a Krystal plaque to be hung in the Ridgeland restaurant for all of eternity and a complimentary meal for friends and family. Photos of the event can be seen below.

Tracie Tolentino’s History of Krystal Love Earns Spot in Hall of Fame

Tolentino will become Hall of Fame Inductee #84 for her undying Love of the Krystal Burger!

Tolentino will become Hall of Fame Inductee #84 for her undying Love of the Krystal Burger!

Here at Krystalist, we reminisce about the Crispy Onion Krystal Meal or yummy Sweet Bites that were just eaten a mere one or two weeks ago, but loyal Krystal fan Tracie Tolentino has a 32-year long history of Krystal love that takes her all the way back to childhood. Back to a day where special trips to Krystal were a weekly treat and all was made right by the world with one bite of a hot-off-the-grill Krystal Burger.

Enter 2009, and not much has changed! Now that she’s all grown up, Tolentino smiles as she remembers her regular outings to Krystal as a child, but gets an even bigger grin on her face knowing that even today she is still made happy by the little square burgers and loves Krystals just as much now as she did back then.

It is for this true dedication that Krystal takes great pleasure in recognizing Tolentino as one of this year’s exclusive Krystal Lovers Hall of Famers. Join the celebration at her induction ceremony on Sat., Dec. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Krystal restaurant located at 5181 Hwy 78 in Stone Mountain, Ga.
