Krystalist Mailbag: Great Job Lafayette & Employment Questions

We thought we’d start out the week by going through our Krystalist mailbag. Our first note comes to us from Annette Thibodeaux in Lafayette, La.

Thibodeaux wants to compliment her local Krystal and thank Denise, who was working the Drive-Thru during her recent visit. Thibodeaux says:

“I stopped in on Tuesday, June 3 and Denise was working the Drive-Thru. [I had the] best service. She was smiling like she was glad to be there. It was a good feeling to see such a friendly smile…thanks for such a great experience at the Drive-Thru.”

Great job Denise!  Thanks Annette for your email.

We’ve also received several emails from readers this week asking about employment opportunities at their local Krystal.  We’ve got several places for you to check out.  First, recent college grads interested in Krystal’s management training program should check out www.krystalcareers.com. Anyone looking to become a member of Krystal’s restaurant crew, operations management or interested in joining the corporate team should visit www.krystal.com and click on careers. You’ll find everything you need there - even an application you can download.

Finally, we’ve had a couple of readers ask us about Krystal’s history and how the restaurant was started.  We’ve given you the short version here, but for the full low-down, check out www.krystal.com and click on corporate.  From there, click the history tab at the top of the page, and you can read all about Krystal’s history spanning back 75 years.

That’s it for now, but keep the mail coming by emailing us info@krystalist.com.

Krystal Photo Timeline: 1940’s - 1950’s

Many people don’t realize that Krystal is the oldest quick service restaurant chain in the Southeast and the second oldest chain in the U.S.

First opening its doors in downtown Chattanooga in 1932, Krystal has been serving up its small, square burgers for 75 years now.

With that said, Krystal has a deep rooted history here in the South, and we thought it would be fun to share some tidbits of info about the company from back in the day (starting with the ’40s and ’50s). Plus, we really wanted to share these old black and white photos we found.

Check out the uniforms and the hair styles - classic! We’ll post more old photos soon so check back.

In 1941, Krystal has 33 restaurants in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama.
