Krystal’s New Sweet Bites are the New Chocolate

Krystal's Sweet Bites. Once you start popping, you'll wish you ordered the 12 count. We’ve just experienced a new Krystal menu item, and it’s pure sweetness. Hello Krystal Sweet Bites. Goodbye self control.

If you’re a fan of cake-like donuts, then you better watch out. Krystal’s new Sweet Bites are little balls of sugary goodness with a soft inner pastry surrounded by a crispy breaded coating with powdered sugar sprinkled on top. The crispy shell creates a surprisingly unique crunch/soft bite combination that leaves you wanting more and more.

We’re just going to say it… They’re so good, they could replace Chocolate. Unless that is, Krystal decides to inject them with chocolate. But that’s another post. Hopefully.

Krystal Sweet Bites come in orders of six or 12 and are served warm in a cup that fits perfectly into your car’s cup holder. We mention this because the convenience allows your hands to be free for “Sweet Bite Popping” straight into your mouth, while still driving. What is “Sweet Bite Popping” you ask? You’ll have to wait until Monday and check back with us here. Wish the new interns good luck!

You have until the end of June to try these hot, cheese-filled, crispy bites of hearty goodness so don’t delay. You’ll be kicking yourself otherwise. And while you’re there, pick up a Breakfast Scrambler. The Hasbrown CasseRolls’ peppery, potato flavor is the perfect complement to the sausage, egg and grits scrambler. No mess, no fuss.

One Last Krystal Feast Before Lent

twitterIt wasn’t too long ago that Krystal inducted 2008 Hall of Fame member Sally Jones for her Krystal story that involved giving up her favorite food item (Cheese Krystals) for Lent. And now diehard Krystal fans are coming out with their guilty pleasures once again for the Catholic tradition, only this time via Twitter.

Earlier this week Krystal Lover and fellow Tweep, @flhazelnut, tweeted about her 45-minute pilgrimage to the Krystal restaurant in Lake Mary, Fla., where she ate her last bite of fast food for the next 40 days of Lent. Krystal is among a number of fast food options @flhazelnut will forgo, but she gets a shout out from Krystalist for choosing Krystal as the one and only place to satisfy her final craving until Easter. And considering she had to travel, that’s double the brownie points, or should we say, Krystal Points!

It’s not hard to guess the first place she’ll visit once the deprivation is over, and Krystal will be prepared. New menu items will include Krystal’s latest MilkQuake and Energy Freeze flavors for spring in addition to it’s signature line featuring the Breakfast Scramblers, Krystal Chiks, Krystal Pups and much more!

What are you giving up this year for Lent? Tell us here.

Krystal Creations for Valentine’s Day

How do you make food romantic? Create heart-shaped Krystals! While all of you with plus ones out there tried to think of a creative Valentine’s Day gift this past Saturday, a small town girl in Wisconsin was one step ahead. This bride to be started a new Valentine’s Day tradition with her man that incorporates favorite food items in the shape of a heart.

Last year it was pizza. A natural choice because who doesn’t like pizza? But this year they both stepped it up a notch. She got Dunkin’ Donuts and he got Krystal! Sound a little cheesy? Think again. Check out how delicious these heart-shaped Krystal Burgers look! I’d take that gift any day of the week.

Now, we know it’s a little late to be giving gift advice for Valentine’s Day, but we’ve taken away a great suggestion from this post for next year. Start a tradition. There’s nothing more romantic than implying that there will be many more Valentine’s Days to come. That’s commitment.
