Say what you will about the new Facebook design, there’s no denying it has enhanced the daily conversation between Krystal and its fans. With the ability for people to comment directly to status updates just as they can on their own personal pages or click the always fun “like” button, we’re getting great feedback, stories and suggestions from Krystal fans from all over the world, even as far as Iraq. Bill Gabbard posted a great picture of the Krystal located inside the Hartsfield-Atlanta International Airport – the closest location he can find to Annapolis, MD without driving to South Carolina or Virginia. Gabbard’s tip of the day: To make eating on a flight easier, double wrap your steamers in plastic. Everyone on your plane ride will thank you for it.

Krystal fans everywhere are also becoming fans of Chris Swan, who is craving Krystals like crazy while serving in Iraq. Have any tips on how to send food to soldiers in Iraq?

Dewey Moore captured a photo of “Bigfoot” trekking across the grounds at the Krystal Square Off last year. Ever spotted Bigfoot yourself?

It’s Friday, and Friday means photos here at Krystalist. Below are some of our favorite Krystal photo finds from Flickr. There’s no rhyme or reason, except that we like them – enjoy!

We’ve already expressed our love for Flickr, and after being sucked into the site yet again, we stumbled across the photo to the right on Jacknapped‘s profile that we just had to share. See it on Flickr here.

Looks like Jack, of the burger-chain Jack In The Box, recently found himself surrounded by Krystal burger boxes and almost became Jack in the Krystal Box.

Luckily for Jack, the boxes were empty as the Krystal burgers had already been devoured, leaving him “to see another day,” as user Jacknapped so eloquently puts it.

Love it.

Many people don’t realize that Krystal is the oldest quick service restaurant chain in the Southeast and the second oldest chain in the U.S.

First opening its doors in downtown Chattanooga in 1932, Krystal has been serving up its small, square burgers for 75 years now.

With that said, Krystal has a deep rooted history here in the South, and we thought it would be fun to share some tidbits of info about the company from back in the day (starting with the ’40s and ’50s). Plus, we really wanted to share these old black and white photos we found.
