Wake Up With Your Favorite Krystal Breakfast Scrambler

Enjoy Krystal's Pancake Scrambler - a no mess breakfast option you're sure to love

Enjoy Krystal's Pancake Scrambler - a no mess breakfast option you're sure to love!

We here at Krystalist love getting up in time to head to Krystal for Breakfast (or at least our interns do :) . And in light of the fact that this week is dedicated to the Original Scrambler Value Meal, we thought we would share with you our reasons for loving the Scrambler so very much.

Easy, Easy & Easy. Your most-loved breakfast foods are probably hard to eat on the go. With the Kyrstal Scrambler, say goodbye to using a knife for cutting, getting syrup on your fingers and a plate full of food in your lap while driving. Now you can enjoy those once-hard-to-eat foods, such as pancakes or biscuits and gravy, in an easy to eat breakfast bowl. One meal, one bowl, no mess.

Tons of Options: You want bacon and eggs? Or maybe a little sausage and biscuit. What about pancakes? And don’t even forget about buttery grits. That’s right, you have the choice of them all with Krystal’s Original Scrambler; Low Carb Scrambler with Bacon or Sausage; the Biscuit, Sausage and Gravy Scrambler; and the Pancake Scrambler. With that many options, how could you ever get bored of breakfast?

Pairs great with Kryspers. We like our Kryspers, and although the Scramblers are a complete breakfast all on their own, sometimes we still like to include an add-on here and there. A true Southern choice – a side of golden hash browns. So go ahead and grab a couple strips of crispy goodness to complement your meal. You can even put them right on top of your Scrambler to add that perfect amount of crunch. Plus it keeps things easy, and we know you like easy.

Do you too have a love for Krystal Scramblers? If so, share it with us on here, Facebook, and Twitter.

The Famous Krystal or The New Cripsy Onion Krystal? Decisions, Decisions.

How do you top the Famous Krystal burger? Easy, with delicious crispy onions.

While it’s hard to pinpoint exactly what makes a Krystal Hamburger taste so darn good, many would argue it’s the steamed-in onion flavor that gives it its “nothin’ like it” edge. Now, what would happen if the onions weren’t just steamed in but also served crispy on top? That’s what we found out today when we made our weekly lunch run to our local Krystal at 14th and Northside Dr. to try The Crispy Onion Krystal.

Picture Krystal’s famously small, square burger with all of its regular fixins’, except one twist. Instead of it just being layered with square-cut white onions, the burger patty is also topped with long, thinly sliced crispy onions that you would normally expect to see on a steak sandwich. You know those crispy, flavorful onions with the deep golden color that have that wonderful crunch and not-too-heavy fried taste? Yep. Those are the ones we’re talking about.

So, what’s better? The Famous Krystal or the Crispy Onion Krystal? The verdict is still out with our group. It’s always hard to top the original but we’re always excited to taste something new and delicious.

Photo above of Crispy Onion Krystals shot in our office before some serious devouring took place.

Photolicious: The Mint Chocolate Cookie and Eggnog MilkQuakes

We realized yesterday that whenever we talk about the new Krystal Holiday MilkQuakes we always use a photo of the Pumpkin Pie MilkQuake because we have yet to snap shots of either the Mint Chocolate Cookie MilkQuake or Eggnog MilkQuake. So yesterday we fixed that.

We had one of the interns pick up a few of the premium ice cream treats at the Krystal on the corner of 14th Street and Northside Drive so we could fire off some shots before rapidly consuming them in the office.

Yep, tough job we have here, we know. Just think of the dangers involved, like suffering from a bout of sphenopalatineganglioneuralgia. Good thing we know what to do when that happens.

We posted the photos we took on the Krystalist Flickr Page. Check them out here or click below.

Got your own Krystal MilkQuake photos? Share with us and we’ll post them on Krystalist.com.

Valentine’s Day may still be months away, but now is the time to let your taste buds be heard by voting for the Valentine’s MilkQuake flavor you like best. The choices are:

  • Chocolate Truffle Shake
  • Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Shake

Opening Ceremony To Kick Off Krystal Square Off V Today

Not to be outdone by the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, the Krystal Square Off V World Hamburger Eating Championship will host an Opening Ceremony today in downtown Chattanooga. The ceremony will start up at 1:00 pm EST with the official lighting of the Krystal Square Off Grill to signify the beginning of this year’s Krystal Square Off Qualifying Tour.

After the lighting, Chattanoogans are invited to join the first ever “Running of the Grill” down Chestnut Street, complete with a police escort, parade of vehicles with local dignitaries, the Krystal cycling team on bikes and a host of Krystal employees.

The procession will end down at the Riverfront, where Krystal’s VP of Marketing Brad Wahl and George Shea from Major League Eating will host a press conference to set the stage for this year’s competitive eating contest, and immediately afterwards, Chattanooga’s most popular news personalities will compete in a 2-minute Krystal burger eating contest.

Head over to our sister site, the Krystal Square Off Blog, to find out which media personalities are competing and for more details. They’ll also have updates throughout the day, including photos, video and more.

Krystal Photo Friday

We stumbled across this Krystal photo today, which was posted by Flickr user ajpresto714. The photo was taken in Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park at the Wall of History, a 1,400 ft. long granite wall etched with dates and information detailing a historical time line of Tennessee. Pretty cool, huh?
