Krystal Debuts Banana Pudding and Reese’s Peanut Butter MilkQuakes

Krystal's new Banana Pudding MilkQuake
Krystal's new Banana Pudding MilkQuake
As was first mentioned in this Nashville Scene blog post and this video with Don Welch of News Channel 9, Krystal is debuting two new MilkQuake flavors: Banana Pudding and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.

The new flavors are now available in Krystal restaurants, and we’ve been counting down the days until we could try them out. So yesterday, we rushed to our nearest Krystal and ordered one of each because, well, we HAD to try BOTH before we blogged about them - right?

Let me tell you, they’re just as delicious as they sound. Think about it. What could be better than a Banana Pudding MilkQuake that’s made with premium vanilla ice cream and real Nilla wafers? Nothing.

Well, except maybe a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup MilkQuake made with REESE’S Shell Topping, which leaves chunks of peanut butter flavored chocolate melting in your mouth. Actually, maybe the Banana Pudding is better than the Reese’s or, wait - well, we clearly haven’t made up our minds yet as to which is our favorite so for now, we’ll just continue to order both.

And yes, we may be just a tad biased, but we seriously think these flavors are Krystal’s best MilkQuake creations yet.

Happy Earth Day!

Earth Day is the day in which we join millions of our fellow earth dwellers to celebrate the beauty of the planet, the advancements we’ve made to protect it and learn new ways we can go green and help save our environment.

And although we’re sure you’ll stumble across many “earth-friendly” tips today, we thought we’d share with you some of our favorites.

Some of you may recognized these tips, as they were a part of Krystal’s “Chill Out” campaign which launched as MilkQuakes were first introduced last summer. “Chill Out” was designed to provide those of us in Krystal country with earth-saving, cost-efficient tips for keeping cool during the blazing summer months.

So, as temperatures here in the Deep South begin their steady climb, stop to reflect on the importance of Earth Day and keep these “green” tips in mind before cranking up the air conditioner. The earth (and your bank account) will thank you.

Don Welch Visits Krystal Test Kitchen: Part 1

Don Welch of News Channel 9 in Krystal’s hometown of Chattanooga recently paid a visit to the Krystal Test Kitchen. Welch is the host of the station’s popular program This N That, and as part of a two-day series, he joined Brad Wahl, the vice president of marketing for Krystal, to taste a couple of new items that are currently being tested in various markets. During the visit, Welch and Wahl (sounds like the name of a weird ’70s sitcom) sink their teeth into a Krystal-sized patty melt, which is made with Black Angus chuck, and try out a new hot and spicy Scrambler that has yet to be named.

Watch part one of Welch’s visit below. We’ll post the second half tomorrow where Welch and Wahl (ha) taste the most popular Krystal Freeze flavors and reveal the new line of MilkQuakes for the summer.

P.S. Email us at info@krystalist.com if you have any name suggestions for that new Scrambler. You won’t win anything except bragging rights, and good luck explaining to your friends how you named a Krystal menu item. We’re sure they’ll believe you.
