Spring has arrived! Celebrate with one of Krystal's signature Freeze flavors.

Ah spring – the transition between winter and summer, the period with 12-hour long days, the time when flowers bloom and birds chirp. And of course, the time when Krystal Lovers flock to restaurants to enjoy an icy-cold Krystal Freeze or MilkQuake while basking in the sunlight. Oh yes, it’s safe to say that we’re glad March 20 is only one day away. Hence our advance, “Hello to the first official day of spring!”

So what will we be doing tomorrow on a fabulous Saturday afternoon this spring? Grabbing a classic Coca-Cola flavored Krystal Freeze, 2 Krystal Chiks, fries and an order of Sweet Bites to enjoy at the park. That’s right – a Krystal picnic. And you should follow suit!

Pick up any one of Krystal’s other Freeze flavors including: Orange, Cherry, Sour Green Apple, Grape, Pomegranate, Blueberry, Banana or Strawberry. If you prefer something on the sweeter side, you can also try Krystal’s signature MilkQuake flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry.

But honestly, the most important thing isn’t which Krystal meal you choose to enjoy, but that you make the most out of your first day of spring in 2010. And if Krystal can add to your special day, then we’re happy! So, enjoy all that the new season has to offer. We definitely will be!

Enjoy Hot Breakfast Month with Krystal's Scramblers, Plate Breakfasts, Sandwiches and more!

February isn’t just about the month of love or President’s Day, it’s also about the first and most important meal of the day – Breakfast. Not to be confused with regular Breakfast month, national “HOT Breakfast Month” is in a whole category of its own. And, we’re not quite sure how this holiday was created, but what we can be sure of is that we’ll be celebrating it for the next few weeks with many a trips to Krystal.

We plan to start off light with the Low-Carb Scrambler featuring loads of protein with two freshly scrambled eggs, a slice of American cheese and a choice of Krystal’s savory Jimmy Dean sausage patties or a generous layer of crispy Smithfield bacon. Then, we’ll work our way up to the great tasting Sausage Gravy Scrambler that combines two eggs with a layer of rich, sausage Sawmill gravy and topped with a hot, buttery biscuit. Finally, we’ll finish our Scrambler experience with sweetest one of all – the Pancake Scrambler complete with scrambled eggs, a perfectly-seasoned Jimmy Dean sausage patty and a layer of fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with rich, Maple syrup.

Next, we’ll tackle the breakfast sandwich category beginning with the classic Krystal Sunriser featuring a savory Jimmy Dean sausage patty, fluffy scrambled eggs and a slice of melted American cheese served on Krystal’s famous small, square bun. We’ll also enjoy the Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Sausage, Egg & Cheese and Chik Biscuits along with the bacon and sausage Breakfast Toast Sandwiches – one for every day of the week.

We’ll finish up with Krystal’s two plate breakfasts. The first being Krystal’s Express Breakfast made for guests-on-the-go, which comes with scrambled eggs, homemade grits, two slices of buttery toast and your choice of crispy strips of Smithfield bacon or Jimmy Dean sausage patties. The second being Krystal’s biggest breakfast ever, The Big Stack Breakfast, which includes a full plate loaded with fresh scrambled eggs, two Jimmy Dean sausage patties, two strips of crispy Smithfield bacon and a hot, heaping stack of three buttermilk pancakes topped with Maple syrup.

The only thing that could top it all off is an order of Sweet Bites. Need we say more?

Here at Krystalist, we reminisce about the Crispy Onion Krystal Meal or yummy Sweet Bites that were just eaten a mere one or two weeks ago, but loyal Krystal fan Tracie Tolentino has a 32-year long history of Krystal love that takes her all the way back to childhood. Back to a day where special trips to Krystal were a weekly treat and all was made right by the world with one bite of a hot-off-the-grill Krystal Burger.

Deck the halls with Christmas Decorations made easy by Krystal. And don’t forget to submit your photos to Krystal’s Holiday Decorations Contest to win a $50 gift card. Tips and details below…

1. Krystal’s Downloadable Ornaments: Visit FamousKrystal.com/holiday2009 where you can print, color and cut out the ornaments to help decorate the tree. Simply punch out the hole at the top of the ornament, tie a 12″ string through the hole and hang.
2. Krystal Gift Boxes: If you’re looking for inexpensive ways to help decorate the house, grab a few empty Krystal boxes and wrap with your favorite Christmas wrapping paper and tie with a bow. The small boxes can be stacked on top of each other for layered effect and placed throughout the house as decor. Or you can place ornament hook through the bow to hang on tree as ornament – see example photos below.
3. Krystal Centerpiece: Start with one Krystal Box and simply insert another into the previous Krystal box while continually angling each new box in the same direction so that if forms a complete circle. See Krystal box-stacking video below for visual reference of circular design. Place large candle in middle of centerpiece and decorate space between Krystal boxes and candle with pine cones, etc. You’ll need about 12 – 24 Krystal Boxes, depending on size of circle.
4. Krystal Wreath: Arrange Krystal Boxes in the same circular pattern as stated above, then wrap with thin layer of garland around the wreath so that Krystal box design still shows through the background.
5. Edible Mini-Christmas Snowmen: You will need (3) 12-count orders of Sweet Bites (36 total), vanilla/white icing, stick pretzels and candy sprinkles. Simply take 3 Sweet Bites, coat each with icing and stack one on top of the other (tip: if icing doesn’t make them stick together, use toothpick through the center, but be sure to warn guests for safety). Use stick pretzels for arms and candy sprinkles to make eyes, nose, mouth and buttons. You can even use gumdrops or chocolate kisses as a hat. You can also coat serving dish with icing to help snowmen stand up on plate. Recipe makes 12 mini-snowmen. Another Food Tip: Use Christmas cookie cutter shapes and press into Krystal Burgers to create fun holiday-themed burger designs.

Yesterday we asked our friends on Twitter and Facebook to share their Top Three Krystal menu items, and the Krystal Lover Community spoke loud and clear! It comes as no surprise that the Famous Krystal Burger and Cheese Krystal are well at the top of the chart, however, there are a few other favorites climbing the list.
